Cocker-Weber is a premier source for high-quality custom industrial brushes. Equipped with over 125 years of tufted brush manufacturing and distributing experience, we can provide American-made solutions manufactured to nearly any specification or standard. From cleaning to deburring to polishing, our brushes are used in a variety of industries and applications.

Tufted brushes come in a wide range of shapes. Two brush types available at Cocker-Weber are industrial cylinder brushes and industrial wheel brushes.

Industrial Cylinder Brushes

Cylinder brushes are rotary brushes that have a cylindrical design that have rows of tufts aligned, staggered or in a spiral pattern.

They typically have cores made from a strong, lightweight polymer and bristles made from materials ranging from metal wires to flexible synthetics or soft natural fibers. The bristles are stapled, glued, or tied  perpendicular to the core’s axis through pre-drilled holes in the desired pattern. The center of the core contains an arbor hole that allows users to insert a shaft so the cylindrical brush can be rotated along its center axis.

Capabilities of Cylinder Brushes

Cylinder brushes are used for many industrial applications, including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Administering and spreading adhesives, coatings, and paints
  • Applying labels
  • Cleaning
  • Metal finishing
  • Polishing, cleaning, deburring, coating, and other production operations
  • Removing debris and other contaminants
  • Sorting and moving components
  • Texturing
  • Washing and waxing produce

Advantages of Cylinder Brushes

Compared to other brush designs, cylinder brushes offer the following advantages:

  • They can perform sweeping and scrubbing operations simultaneously for more efficient, cost-effective cleaning operations.
  • They can eliminate dust since sweeping can be performed wet.
  • They accommodate higher rotational speeds for more effective cleaning operations.

Types of Cylinder Brushes

At Cocker-Weber, we produce cylinder and wheel brushes to your specifications. Filaments and base materials are chosen  to suit your unique applications. Whether you require a single brush or 10,000+ brushes, we will work with you to provide the best solution to your production needs.

Industrial Wheel Brushesindustral wheel brushes

Industrial wheel brushes are rotary brushes with a circular design. They consist of one or more rows  of bristles around the outer edge of a flat, circular core perpendicular to the center. A hole through the center of the wheel allows users to insert a shaft or rod to spin the brush on a central axis. The rotary power is concentrated on the bristles, which can be used to produce cuts, create patterns, and achieve specialty finishes.

Capabilities of Wheel Brushes

Typical applications for wheel brushes include:

  • Cleaning
  • Deburring
  • Polishing
  • Rust removal
  • Surface finishing
  • Weld blending

Advantages of Wheel Brushes

Compared to other brush designs, wheel brushes offer the following advantages:

  • They offer excellent flexibility on uneven surfaces.
  • They are available in many variations, including ones for cleaning, deburring, and edge blending.

Types of Wheel Brushes

At Cocker-Weber, we offer industrial wheel brush lines for the jewelry manufacturing industry, silversmiths, watchmakers and for dental laboratories. We also maintain the capabilities to produce custom industrial wheel brushes. They can range in width from 1/4 and larger.
